We are deeply saddened to inform you about the passing away of our colleague Frederik de Rooij, CFO of ICCO Investments. Frederik started working at ICCO Cooperation about 6 years ago and joined ICCO Investments in 2014. His work ethics and hard work contributed significantly to take the organization forward.
Lately, Frederik was suffering from an aneurysm caused by a failing heart valve. He had a successful surgery in October and was recovering very well after that. He had plans to gradually commence work again from January 2016. However, just before Christmas, on Monday 21st December, as he was going to the gym for his regular physiotherapy session, he unfortunately suffered from a heart attack. It took substantial time to resuscitate him and this caused severe impact to his brain due to the loss of oxygen. He was kept asleep at the intensive care to give him strength but without any success. After numerous neurological tests it became clear that the damage to his brain was irrevocable and since then it was clear that he would never recover. There was no perspective for further treatment.
Frederik, our dear colleague, passed away on December 28th, 2015
